Queue reduction
The core interaction replaces uncertain waiting and physical queues with a scheduled visit mediated by a mobile application.
UyVoy is a mobile-app concept for reserving appointments before visiting local services, reducing queues and unnecessary crowding. Gabriel worked on the project as product owner and project lead, covering product definition as well as the development of its visual identity.
The product addresses a practical pandemic-era problem: people still need to visit local businesses and services, but unmanaged queues create unnecessary in-person contact. UyVoy lets users reserve a place or appointment in advance so visits can be distributed over time.
The core interaction replaces uncertain waiting and physical queues with a scheduled visit mediated by a mobile application.
The concept spans hardware stores, hairdressers, payment networks, restaurants and veterinary services rather than targeting a single type of business.
Gabriel worked as product owner and project lead, focusing on product definition, coordination and the overall service concept.
The project combines everyday access to local services with a public-health constraint, making scheduling and coordination the central product problem.
UyVoy originates in the HackCovid19UY challenge held in Montevideo in May 2020. The hackathon provides the setting in which the product idea is developed around the need to reduce queues and unnecessary physical contact.
The project develops a coherent identity around a pixel-art shopping bag, extending it from the logo itself to a broader visual language for the service categories represented inside the app.
UyVoy combines product definition, project leadership and brand development around a concrete mobile-service concept. The project focuses on the concept and design stage rather than claiming a later production-scale deployment.
