Simple mechanism
The product uses a compact mechanical construction with plastic, rubber and steel, without batteries or electronics.
3H-ATO is a compact mechanical tool that takes contact with shared surfaces instead of the user's hand. It works as a portable third hand for everyday interactions such as opening doors, pressing buttons, using touchscreens, moving shopping carts and holding public-transport rails.
The device acts as a reusable mechanical interface between the user and high-contact public surfaces. Its geometry supports grasping, pulling, pushing and pressing actions without requiring a different accessory for each task.

The design targets a lightweight object that can be carried outside the home and cleaned after use.
The same tool handles transport rails, shopping carts, doors, elevator and ATM buttons, doorbells, touchscreens and small objects.

3H-ATO includes a five-month validation plan submitted in 2020 to ANII's Validación de Idea de Negocio programme, with Cámara de Industrias del Uruguay as sponsoring institution. The plan combines prototype testing, user research, pre-sale validation and manufacturing analysis.
